The DC Starlight Orchestra is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides music education and performance opportunities. This jazz big band, composed mostly of Federal employees in the Washington DC area, performs charts from the swing era to today at a variety of events, including community music concert series, nonprofit fundraisers, senior centers, and private events.
We believe in the power of music to bring people together in spirit and in harmony and we want to share the beauty and history of jazz with you. Please join our mailing list to get information on our upcoming performances.
DC Starlight can perform as a full big band (5 saxes, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets + rhythm), little big band (four horns + rhythm), or combo (one or two horns + rhythm) to best suit the venue or event needs. We welcome adult musicians to contact us if they would like to perform with the band.

Check out over 40 local artists, gift shop, and live music from the DC Starlight Combo. The ARTS Place Pop-up Gallery will be held at the former Walgreens drugstore on Langston Blvd., across from Lyon Village Shopping Center at Spout Run. This gallery is hosted by Arlington Artists Alliance, which is a nonprofit that promotes local visual artists.
Bring your dancing shoes as the DC Starlight Little Big Band will perform for the Capitol Hill PorchFest. The band will play upbeat and swinging charts for all to enjoy. Free and no tickets required.
The DC Starlight Orchestra Little Big Band plays swing and jazz at the Adams Morgan PorchFest. This is an immersive neighborhood music festival featuring somewhere around 100 performances on 20+ stages throughout the residential and commercial streets of Adams Morgan. The event is 100% free and open to people of all ages as well as their pets (if the pets are cool with music and crowds).
